NO 233 GENERAL RECONNAISSANCE SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed at Dover in November 1914 as No 33 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service. Renumbered No 233 Squadron, RAF on 1 April 1918.
Official blazon
In front of a trident and sword in saltire argent a star of eight points Or.
Motto: Fortis et fidelis = Strong and faithful.
Origin/meaning
The Star symbolises Navigation, the Sword Striking Force and the Trident operations over the Sea. The badge was granted in December 1937.
