DAHN

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Südwestpfalz
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Dahner Felsenland

Wappen von Dahn/Arms (crest) of Dahn
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 11, 1953.

The village was ruled until the end of the 18th century by the Bishops of Speyer, which are represented by the cross of the State of Speyer. The eagle is taken from the arms of the medieval Lords of Dahn. The point shows a canting pine tree (Tanne), which is derived from the old seals of the village, known since 1599.

All later seals showed the tree, which was also used as arms (below) until 1953.
