Official blason

I blått fält en bild av Sancta Ragnhild med klädnad av silver, krona, gloria och stav av guld samt ett rött grekiskt kors på bröstet.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 25, 1935.

The arms show St. Ragnhild, the wife of King Inge the Younger. She made many pilgrimages and was bureid in the then village of Tälje. She appeared on the local seal of the city from the 17th century, but with the wrong attributes and shown more like St. Mary. In the arms above she iis shown with a pilgrim's staff and a cross for her holyness, and a crown as she was a queen.

In 1878 the arms were shown based on the old seal (see below), with the letters S.R. for Saint Ragnhild.

As none of the other municipalities used arms, the arms wer not changed by the many additions to the municipality.
