MERÅKER

Province : Trøndelag (until 2018 Nord-Trøndelag)

Coat of arms (crest) of Meråker
Official blazon
Norwegian

I rødt en sølv vogn.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 28, 1990.

Traditionally mining has played a major role in the area and has been of great economic importance for Meråker. The mining cart as a symbol for the municipality was thus an obvious decision. The cart is officially described as a cart, not a mining cart.
