Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 14, 1933.
The arms show four drying rolls (Walzen) and can also be seen on the oldest seals of the town, dating from 1456. The origin of these are not clear, but it may have something to do as a canting element for the Bech part of the name; the rolls were used by bakers (Bäcker).
The arms were officially granted in 1933 in the colours of the Pappenheim family, who ruled the town from 1364-1410.
