Gespalten; vorne geviert von Silber und Schwarz; hinten in Blau eine am Spalt hochkletternde, herschauende silberne Katze.

Origin/meaning

Kasendorf received market and city rights in 1328. The oldest known seal dates from the early 15th century. The seal already showed the above shield. The quartered right half shows the arms of the Hohenzollern family, Margraves of Nürnberg, to which the town historically belonged. The cat is a canting symbol for the older name of the town, Katzendorf (or cat-village).In the 1920s Hupp showed the left field red:
