Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 24, 2000.

The mountains and the trees symbolise the Serra do Arestal mountains, which are densely forested. They also indicate, together with the green field, the development of the area, in whih forest is cleared for cultivation.

The crown is the symbol of Our Lady of Fátima, the local patron saint.
