Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 23, 1978.

The arms show two flowers of the Leopard's bane (Arnica montana), a medical herb that can be found in abundance in the area. The ducal hat is canting (Duke=Herzog) and refers to the fact that the Dukes of Austria already had possessions here in the 15th century.
