Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 29, 1990.

The crown refers to Empress Maria Theresa, who owned the local castle and often spent time there. The castle was an Imperial possession from 1635-1918.

The divsion line rfers to the chalk mining in the municipality. The rose is taken from the old seal of the town and also refers to the natur ein the municipality.

The wavy base refers to the local mineral springs.
