Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 7, 1892.

The arms were granted to the parish by the French King Louis XIV on February 27, 1698. The first and fourth quarter are the arms of the Croy family, as Robrecht van Sint-Omaars, Lord of Dranouter, married Anna van Croy in the early 17th century.

The eaglets are probably taken from the Montmorency family, as the village was inherited by Jean de Montmorency after the death of Anna van Croy.
