Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 6, 1984.
The lower half shows a water-mill wheel, a symbol for the historical water-mill in the Bollingstedter Au. Next to the mill was a pond, which was also part of the local castle. The oldest known owners of the castle and mill was the Porsfeld family, who also used a water-mill wheel in their arms. The three oak leaves and acorns symbolise the second village in the municipality, Gammellund, which in Dainsh means old-forest. As the forests in the area mainly consists of oak trees, the leaves were chosen as a symbol for the village. The colours are those of the disctrict Schleswig-Flensburg.
