GONDOMAR
District : Porto
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 31, 1997.
The arms show a heart made of filigraine gold. This represents the long tradition of jewelry making in the city. The heart is surrounded by wheat stalks as a symbol for the rich agricultural lands surrounding the city.
Previously the city used the arms below, granted on April 29, 1938. The arms only differ in the crown and the status of the city (Vila vs Cidade).
