SKILLINGARYD

Province (Landskap): Småland
County (Län): Jönköpings län
Additions :1952 Tofteryd (partly)

Arms of Skillingaryd

Official blazon

Sköld, delad av silver, vari tre gröna granar bjälkvis ordnade, och av rött, vari två korslagda kanoner av silver.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 10, 1948 to the community and on December 14, 1951 to the town.

The arms show in the upper half some pine trees as a symbol for the importance of forestry. The guns in the lower half refer to the army training grounds (Skillingaryds skjutfält) in the municipality.
