Origin/meaning
The first and fourth quarter show the arms of the diocese of Stockholm.
The second and third quarter are derived from the Scottish Clan Campbell of Lochiel, which showed a shield barry of red and gold. The father of the bishop was named Campbell and to represent this, the barry shield was taken. The eagle was added as a symbol of St. John the Evangelist, the patron saint of the bishop.
