Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
NEUFRA
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Sigmaringen
Official blazon
Einen gespaltenen Schild, vorne in Blau ein silberner Adlerflügel, hinten in Silber ein rot bewehrter und rot bezungter blauer Löwe.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 4, 1952.
The silver wing is taken from the arms of the Lords of Lichtenstein, who had several possessions in the area in medieval times, including the castles of Vorder- and Hinterlichtenstein. The blue lion is the lion of the Gammertingen estate, to which part of the villages in the municipality historically belonged.
