Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
VOLLMERSBACH
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Birkenfeld
Verbandsgemeinde : Herrstein
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 27, 1963.
The lion in the rights half of the arms is the lion of the Oberstein Estate, to which the village historically belonged. The left half shows a wavy bar, which symbolises the Vollmersbach river. The cross and the trough in the base symbolise the well of St. Andrew.
Literature : Heyen und Zimmer, 1966
