Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 11, 1967.

The arms show a griffin, taken from the arms of the Counts of Morit-Greifenstein, holding a crosier, symbolising the Innichen Abbey. In late medieval times the area was colonised with support of both the counts as the abbey.
