NOVÝ SMOKOVEC
Province : Prešov
District (okres) : Poprad
Municipality : Vysoké Tatry
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
Tatranské Zruby and Nový Smokovec are part of the historical municipality of Veľký Slavkov. The seal of this municipality showed the local patron saint, St. Andrew. Thus for both villages a quartered shield, symbolising the cross of St. Andrew was chosen. The sun in the arms symbolises the local sanatorium. The sun is also the common symbol for the 4 villages in Smokovce; Starý-, Nový-, Horný- and Dolný-Smokovec.
