Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on April 14, 1972. The arms are a combination of parts of the arms of Schieder and Schwalenberg. The upper part shows the star and swallow of Schwalenberg. The wavy bend is the Emmer river, whereas the crown is taken from the arms of Schieder and represents the former Royal estate in the town.
