Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on ?. The lion is the lion of the Pfalz, as nearly all municipalities historically belonged to the Principality/District of Pfalz-Simmern. The iron symbol refers to the former importance of iron mining in the area. The bordure is typical for a Verbandsgemeinde and shows 10 diamonds, one for each municipality. The diamonds are taken from the arms of the Wittelsbach family, counts and princes of the Pfalz. The following municipalities belong to the Verbandsgemeinde:
