Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 20, 2000.

The linden branch with thre eleaves refers to the forests in the municipality, the three leaves refer to the three villages. The Maltese Cross refers to the Commandry of the Order of Malta in Kraak, to which the village historically belonged. The colours are those of the County Schwerin.
