The castle of Montcada (11<sup>th</sup> century) became the centre of an important barony, that in 1390 was sold to the city of Barcelona. The arms are the ones of the barons, the Montcada family (Gules, 8 bezants Or placed as 2 pales), and they show too the baron's crown.
