Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 19, 2003.

The upper half shows a water mill wheel, a symbol for the many (former) watermills in the parish. The wavy bar refers to the Cortes river and the goat is a symbol for the importance of goat herding and goat cheese manufacturing to the parish.

The golden colour refers to the richness of the parish.
