Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in the late 1940s and officially granted on July 3, 1992.
The arms show three antenna towers on a piece of the globe. This refers to the first German radio broadcasting which started in Königs Wusterhausen on December 22, 1920. During the years many antennae were built, but presently only one remains, although it is no longer used.
During DDR times the arms were identical, but with the water on the globe in blue.
Hupp showed the historical arms of the city, a linden tree. These were officially granted in 1935 with the addition of a letter T.
