Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 26, 1934.

The cross is the arms of the State of Köln, as a major part of the municipality historically belonged to Köln. The eagle is taken from the arms of the Knights of Hurth von Schöneck. The wheel symbolises the industry in the municipality.
