Origin/meaning
The oldest seal of the town is mentioned in 1580, but it's composition is not known. The pine tree appears on the seal of the city from the 17th century. The pine tree probably is taken from the Lichtentanne district (Tanne=pine tree), to which the town belonged at the time.
