The arms of the village (German name Borislawitz) show a pine tree and a saw. The village was developed near an older small village in the late 18<sup>th</sup> century by Lord Heinrich von Sass, and the arms probably simply indicate the clearing of forests for the new village. The image appeared on the only known late 19<sup>th</sup> century seal of the village.
