Origin/meaning

The arms are devised in 1941 and are based on the fact that Münchringen and Kernenried historically belonged to the Hospital in Bern. The two stars are taken from Kernenried, the cross is taken as a symbol for the hospital. The plough iron was added as a symbol for the agriculture in the municipality.

Literature: Wappenbuch des Kantons Bern, 1981.
