Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 9, 1981.

The shield division refers to the name of the village, which is derived from 'Denne' of valley. The colours are based on the colours of the House of Oranje-Nassau, to which the area historically belonged, gold and blue being the colours of Nassau. The eagle head refers to the local patron saint, St. Servatius.
