Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Austria - Österreichische Gemeindewappen |
BADEN
State : Niederösterreich
District : Baden
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1480.
The arms show the colours of Austria, with two people in a bath-tub. The latter refer to the mineral springs and baths in Baden (which means 'baths'), which were already famous during Roman times.
