Origin/meaning
The arms were designed in 1896.
The arms are canting, showing a stylized pine (Tanne) tree. The arms are based on the 14th century seal of Rudolf von Tannheim. The only historical seal of the municipality dates from 1811 and showed two small pine trees and 2 stars. But the State Archives turned in 1896 to the historical seal, which was adopted by the municipality.
In the original blazon the branch was described as proper, only in 1960 the colours were defined.
