Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 13, 1959.

The book and the apple are the symbols for St. Nicholas, patron saint of the village. The water lily leaf is taken from the arms of the Tegernsee Abbey, to which the village belonged from the 8th century until 1803. The blue and silver colours are those of Bayern.

There are no historical seals or arms known, so the arms were designed in 1958/59.
