Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 28, 1935.
The arms show a sword, which is a canting element for the legendary founder of the village, Herebrand (meaning army sword). It also refers to the history in the area which saw invasions of the Swedish (1647), Spanish (1703), Austrian (1744) and French (1796) armies.
