Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 20, 1928.

The arms are canting, showich a black river (Schwarzach can be translated as black river) with three fish. The arms were also used by the Von Schwarzach family, which were quite influential in the region in the late medieval times. The municipality started to use the arms in its seal in the 19th cnetury.
