Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Or, an Avanyu Azure enflamed Gules, a bordure gyronny of eight of the second and Gules. Attached below the shield a Blue scroll inscribed "ADELANTE" in Gold
Origin/meaning
Red, yellow and blue represent the combat arms. The Avanyu is a traditional Pueblo Indian symbol and refers to the unit's home location in New Mexico. The border indicates the unit's heritage and relationship to other New Mexico units.
