The Parachute and Scales symbolises the Motto and the Airborne Status. The Gauntlet symbolise Authority. The Crest symbolise the Campaings in central Europe and the Rhineland during World War II.

The Distinctive Unit Insignia and the Coat of Arms was authorized 22 September 1997.
