Origin/meaning
The badge was the result of a competition among the Members of the Squadron. The Polar Bear symbolises the Strength, Force and Endurance of the Squadron. Originally the Whole of the Bear was to bee seen by later it was reduced to just the Head. Originally approved by King Haakon VII, later corrections approved by King Olav V on 4 April 1979 and General Sverre Diesen on 3 July 2008. The Present Badge was approved by the Chief of Defence on 15 June 2016.
