State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Bayreuth (until 1973 Pegnitz)
Incorporated into : 1972 Creussen

Wappen von Lindenhardt/Arms (crest) of Lindenhardt
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

Lindenhardt was already mentioned as a town in 1280, but the oldest known seal dates from the late 15th century. The seal already shows the canting dragon (Lindwurm), as did all later seals and images. The dragon is the symbol of the local patron saint, Archangel St. Michael.
