16TH-5TH THE QUEEN'S ROYAL LANCERS, BRITISH ARMY
History: Formed in 1922 as the 16th/5th Lancers by amalgamation of the 16th The Queen's Lancers, British Army and 5th Royal Irish Lancers, British Army. Dedesignated in 1954 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers.
Official blazon
A pair of crossed lances with pennons flying downwards; on the lances the Arabic numeral "16" resting on a scroll inscribed "The Queen's Lancers"; within the upper protion the pennons a crown. The crown, lances and upper portion of the pennons in gilt of gilding metal, reminder in silver plate.
Origin/meaning
The badge alludes to the Lancer title and the regimental number.
