WALSCHLEBEN

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Sömmerda

Wappen von Walschleben/Arms (crest) of Walschleben
Official blazon
German

Rot über Blau von einem silbernen flachen Doppelsturzwellensparren geteilt; oben zwei silberne Lindenblätter; unten ein silberner Mühlstein.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 1, 1995.

The wavy bar is the Gera river. The name Gera is derived from gero, or straight corner. Hence the shape of the bar, which also shows the town's initial. The linden leaves are a symbol for the ypical linden trees around the farms in the area. The millstone symbolises the (formerly) many mills in the Gera river.
