Province : Košice
District (okres) : Gelnica

Smolník (Gelnica) (Erb, znak)
Official blazon
Slovak blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 30, 1993.

There are no records of the town's origin, but already in the year 1327 Smolnik was promoted to a Royal Mining Town by the Hungarian King Charles I. The oldest known town seal, dating back to the 15th century, already shows the above composition.

The mining tools refer to the mining, I have no information on the meaning of the roses.
