Escudo de Quiroga (Lugo)/Arms (crest) of Quiroga (Lugo)

Official blazon

De sinople, y sobre ondas de plata y azur, una torre de oro acompañada, en el jefe, de la cruz de la Orden de San Juan, o de Malta, de plata y flanqueada de cuatro estacas de lo mismo , dos en cada flanco. Al timbre, corona real cerrada. |- |English | blazon wanted |}

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 26, 1996.

The arms show the local castle and the cross of the Order of St. John, which had some possessions in the area. The wavy base symbolises the Sil river.

The four sticks are taken from the early medieval arms of the Lords of Quiroga.
