JOANNES HENRICUS GERARDUS JANSEN

Born : May 9, 1868
Deceased : May 17, 1936

Archbishop of Utrecht, 1930-1936
Titular Archbishop of Selymbria, 1936

Arms (crest) of Joannes Henricus Gerardus Jansen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The Archbishop based his motto on a quotation by St. Bonifatius, who is also seen as part of the arms.

The blue and golden parts of the personal arms are taken from the arms of the city of Leeuwarden, where the Archbishop was born, and the city of Dokkum, where Bonifatius preached and was killed.
