German	Durch Wellenschnitt von Silber und Blau schräglinks geteilter Schild, oben drei ungleiche grüne Nadelbäume, unten eine goldene Kirche mit barocker Turmhaube und schwarzen Spitzbogenfenstern.

The arms were officially granted on July 14, 1994.

The upper half symbolises the forests in the region. The wavy division line and the blue field the many rivers and waters in the district.

The church is the main church in Ruhland, a typical landmark of the city, built in 1774.
