In Blau auf erniedrigtem grünen Bogenschildfuß der silbern gekleidete golden nimbierte heilige Petrus, in der herabhängenden Rechten einen goldenen Schlüssel mit dem Bart nach unten und nach außen gekehrt, die Linke erhoben mit ausgestrecktem Daumen und Zeigefinger.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 7, 1966.

The arms are based on the old seal of Peterstal (since 1920 Bad Peterstal), and show the canting St. Peter, the patron saint of the town. The local church is first mentioned in 1293.
