English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 22, 1960.
The blue lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Veldenz, to which the area belonged in medieval times. The lower half shows the arms of the Von der Leyen family, who had an estate in the village.
Literature: Debus, 1988
