BAD CAMBERG
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Limburg-Weilburg (until 1975 Limburg)
Additions : 1974 Dombach, Erbach (Taunus), Oberselters, Schwickershausen, Würges
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1907. The prefix Bad was added in 1981.
Camberg got city rights in 1281 and 1365. All seals of the city, the oldest dating from the 14th century, show a watch-tower. The shape and size of the tower changed through the centuries, but all seal showed the tower. The two lions are the lions of the Counts of Diez, who owned the city in the 13th century.
