SCHLIEBEN

State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Elbe-Elster
Additions : 1957 Krassig; 2001 Frankenhain, Jagsal, Oelsig, Wehrhain, Werchau

Wappen von Schlieben/Arms (crest) of Schlieben
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The composition is first seen on the seal of the city, known from 1638. The arms probably indicate the importance of the local cattle raising and butchers in the city. The stars are probably a simple decoration on the seal.
