Wappen von Schwarzenborn/Arms (crest) of Schwarzenborn
Official blazon
German

Im silbernen Schild ein rotgezungter schwarzer Adler mit Ziegenkopf, im schwarzen Brustschild ein sechsstrahliger goldener Stern.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms already appear on the oldest known seal of the city, known since 1329. The original seal showed the complete arms of the Counts of Ziegenhain, i.e. with a divided breastshield, with the star in the upper half (see Neukirchen (Knüll)). In the 16th century the goat-eagle was placed under a chief with the star, the small shield disappeared. The above arms are known since 1621.
