Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 16, 1931.

The trout in the upper part of the arms shows the rich fishing rivers in the area : the Glonn, Kupferbach and Schrannenbach. The lower parts shows a water mill wheel and symbolises the importance of the historical water mills for the development of the town. The blue and silver colours are derived from the arms of Bayern. Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
